Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB)
ULB (Université Libre de Bruxelles) is a comprehensive university which closely involves teaching, research and service to society. A major focus of its international strategy is to strengthen its presence in Europe by implementing a dynamic policy, centred on a limited number of partnerships to develop strong research activities (such as participation in networks of excellence) and education(such as launching European Masters), while ensuring integration of exchanges in a real educational project. This European policy is helping to create a European Research and Education Space, and to develop Euro-regional clusters competitiveness. The university is based on 335 Socrates/Erasmus agreements, 328 institutional bilateral agreements, about a hundred of international research projects and a series of privileged partnerships. ULB can also rely on the presence of 26% of foreign students, 9% of teachers, 36% of researchers, 41% of PhD studentsand10% of foreign administrative. The university has about 23,000 students, 1400 teachers and 2150 scholars (PhD students included).
As in TLQAA, ULB shall provide support to training evaluation experts and will participate in the pilot evaluation. ULB shall also provide its experience about the network of QA experts. ULB shall receive colleagues from the Lebanese institutions in the frame of the defined study visits.
