Description

Islamic University in Lebanon, a Lebanese private institution of higher education licensed under Decree No. 8600 date of June 12, 1996. 

The university seeks to contribute to the implementation of the content of the thesis carried by the Higher Islamic Shiite Council in Lebanon in national integration and integration between sectarian and religious components of the Lebanese civil society in one political community that founds one state where all citizens are free and equal.

The objectives of the Islamic University of Lebanon are:

  • Provide university education in various arts and sciences disciplines and in specialized areas of knowledge

  • Prepare highly qualified scientific personnel

  • Foster and develop scientific research

  • Special care of Arabic studies and of foreign languages studies and translation

  • Preserve and disseminate the cultural heritage and contribute to the preservation of the values of truth and goodness in human civilization

  • Enhance scientific and cultural links with Lebanese, Arab and international universities and scientific institutions

The IUL main campus is located in Beirut (Khaldeh). The other two campuses are located in Tyre and Baalbeck. The university includes 4000 students.

Role in Project
IUL looks foward an active participation in the TLQAA+ project and to integrate the TLQAA consortium of QA experts. IUL recognizes the importance of QA for a quality higher education in Lebanon. IUL will profit from the project to build and develop its internal QA unit. It will also participate in experts training and pilot evaluation. IUL will co-lead the workpackage assessing the quality of the TLQAA+ project (WP11).
