Description
USJ is a francophone private higher education institution founded 140 years ago by the Jesuits. It includes thirty faculties and institutes where twelve thousands students have been enrolled in the academic year 2014-2015. These faculties cover a large spectrum of scientific and academic domains.
USJ has actively participated in the past years in different projects aiming at the modernization of several aspects of the Lebanese Higher Education. The University has played an important role in the EU-Tempus TLQAA (« Towards the Lebanese Quality Assurance Agency ») project. USJ has been evaluated by the AERES and has a strong experience in the domain of quality assurance.

Role in Project
The Saint Joseph University will participate in several workpackages and will co-lead the workpackage on developing internal QA units (WP4). In this workpackage a guide on building IQA systems shall be developed. USJ shall also participate to drafting the arts and social sciences standards and guidelines.
USJ that has been active in TLQAA shall strongly participate to the workpackages related to experts’ selection and training and pilot evaluation.
USJ shall write part of the book toward the end of the project providing its feedback from this promising experience.
