Description

Being the unique public institution among higher education institutions in Lebanon, the Lebanese University like any public university is interested in social and economic problems of its own society.

Thus, it is on a mission seeking to establish fairness and equal opportunities for all the citizens regardless of their religious and social origins.

Its duty, role, conviction and also its mission is to provide the best training to its students (more than 68,000 students) to help them accomplish their personal projects of social promotion.

The Lebanese University is responsible for public university education. Consisting of 16 faculties and three graduate schools, the different areas of specialization and continuing education offered enable it to fulfil its natural role, namely the scientific and human development of young Lebanese regardless of their religious or regional affiliation.

The Lebanese University ensures specialties distributed in several areas including social sciences, natural sciences, engineering, medical sciences and health, literature, arts, agricultural sciences, economics, management ...

The Lebanese University:

• Provides competent managers,

• Greets and includes students from different backgrounds, with different religious rites or to different regions

• Present in the social and cultural debates at the national level

• Preserve the national heritage and values rooted in the minds of students.

Role in Project
The Lebanese University is interested and will participate in all the workpackages of the project. LU will lead the workpackage on recognition, Lebanese QF, internationalization and, quality assurance (WP3). LU will provide several experts to be trained in the project and will perform self study of at least three programmes. The University shall also participate in the pilot evaluation by providing experts to take part in the different committees.
